As part of the celebration for their Centennial celebration, L.L. Bean, the Maine based mainstay for monogrammed backpacks, doggy beds and cozy flannel lined everything, gave away 1 million dollars to one lucky customer. The winner was Marjorie Thompson of Cumberland, ME who used her L.L. Bean card in Northeast Harbor, ME. Officials were surprised that the winner was from Maine (Or were they?) given that there were 220 million entries. If it was fixed, guess they wanted the winner to reinvest some of that dough in golashes. Hmm, what would I do with 1 million dollars from L.L. Bean? I would buy a boat load of Opium (don't worry, the perfume, not the drug) and smoke it.
